Liposuction Surgery in Seattle and Bellevue
Liposculpture or Liposuction is a procedure
developed to remove fat deposits that fail to respond
to diet and exercise. Frequent target areas are the hips,
thighs, abdomen, buttocks, knees or love handles. Facial
liposculpture, or submental liposuction, involves
removal of fat from under the chin and neck. Both men
and women of all ages who are healthy may be good candidates
for liposuction.
Bellevue Cosmetic Surgeon Dr.
Alex Sobel uses the newest, safest liposuction techniques
to achieve the most desirable results. These include tumescent liposuction
(liposculpture) and the use of
thin cannulas. Each patient receives an extensive
consultation to plan the most effective procedure
for her or his specific needs. Procedures are performed
in Dr. Sobel's own surgical suite in Bellevue,
Washington which is AAAHC accredited to help assure
the highest possible safety standards. Depending on
the extent of the patient's liposculpture, local anesthesia
may be used combined with IV sedation.
During the liposuction surgery, small incisions are made near the area where the fat is to be removed. A thin, hollow tube called a cannula is attached to a machine that creates a vacuum. Dr. Sobel carefully removes the unwanted fat as gently as possible to minimize bruising. Patients are home resting the same day as surgery. A tight fitting garment is worn to reduce swelling.
The results of liposculpture are apparent within two to three weeks, but the full benefits may not be visible for several months or more. Individual results may vary, but with realistic expectations most liposuction patients experience improved self-esteem and positive body image.
Dr. Sobel has done many thousands of liposculpture surgeries. If you have been considering liposuction or submental liposuction in Seattle,
